When Remington introduced the 7600 Patrol Rifle a few years ago, I thought "Neat! I ought to get one of those some day." I've always liked the idea of a carbine-length .308 pump built along the lines of the 870. So what happened to them? Not accepted by law enforcement? Crippled by magazine capacity? Anybody here buy one? Did it function as advertised? Any major design flaws? I'm still watching for one, but any 760 or 7600 carbine in .308 seems to be pretty rare.

The similar 7615 version, in 5.56, using AR magazines, was also inviting.
But the cost probably didn't help it any, as compared to a production AR.
About the same or close to it.
Maybe they found some popularity in places that have prohibited
ARs.
Does Bushmaster still make a pump version of their ARs?

I recall for the .308, like with the FNAR, the cost and near unavailability of extra magazines dampened the enthusiasm.

At least he 5.56 version used AR mags, but again price too close to an AR to really be worthwhile unless you lived in a ban state or really wanted a pump rifle to match your scatter gun.

I had one for a little while. Got it from J&G as a police trade in. It shot almost as good as a bolt action and was a very handy little gun. I bought it because an 870 is like an extension of my arm and figured it would make a good pig shooter. It took the Triple K ten round mags great but with the long mag installed my hand hit the mag when I worked the action. I guess that problem was a deal breaker for me so I sold it off. I had it for sale on this forum for a while this last summer!

The AWB expired, and then the AR15 boom happened.
