I'm looking at a Remington 1903A3, the thing that is bothering me about it is that it is missing the front barrel band/bayonet lug. I was wondering what is involved in replacing this part? Also how is the availability of this kind of part? Are they all standardized or would I have to find a specific version?

rbernard, it's apiece of cake. I'm pretty certain I even have the parts you need. Let me know if you buy it and I'll walk you threw it.
FYI, I have one last 1903A3 that I built. I've built many of these. This one I refer to as a 1903A4 hybrid. It's beyond description. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you some pics.
The work and experience I put into these make them far more solid, better looking and more accurate than anything the arsenal ever produced. It will shoot sub MOA with good ammo. Just a thought
It's a genuine Lencac :D

Lencac,

Thanks for your reply, the deal with 1903 fell through so guess I wont get to see how easy it is after all haha. Ended up picking up a Yugo Mauser last week instead. Thanks for the your help and information though!
