I have been using Lee dies and simplex dies for many years for 243 and 17 remington.I have used both neck and full length resizing dies.I am keen to improve runout by neck turning and checking concentricity. It may well be time to upgrade my dies. The information I have on the redding s dies and the competition bullet seating dies sounds great. Are there any members out there who have used these dies and what are your thoughts?Any other die sets up to this level of precision?

Forster is another.

They all make good ones and bad ones. You pay your money, then check things with your concentricity gauge. Sometimes all is wonderful.

Kev060654 I load .223 & 30-06 with a Forster press & Forster dies.Typical bullet run-out measured on a RCBS case master gauge is .001" to .002" and quite a few the needle just quivers

I've been using RCBS Comp. dies for a long time with good results. I would bet Forester and Redding are as precision or better.

I have a lot of dies from a lot of makers and have actually measured the output from them all. I'm comfortable saying there are two groups of dies; Forster/Redding and all the others. The others are, on average, quite good and few rifles or shooters will ever see any difference on targets due to brand.

All sizers are cut with SAAMI reamers and the tolerance is a range, not a spot dimension; anything inside the limits are fully in tolerance.

Seater designs are all good but they also vary a bit' none of them have any consistant advantage over others. Except the excellant Forster BR and Redding Comp seaters, which are basically the same design.
