It's nice to see something come out the way you imagine it. It's a lot more visually interesting than the basic black without being obnoxious.

I worked through the learning curve of how to handle the materials, backing process, etc . . . on the barrel since it was going to be one color that should, in theory, more or less match the blasted metal undernieth. That took two runs and there was still a glitch or two. First time in coverage, 2nd time in handling. I'll test it for wear and then proably re-shoot the barrel with the metal properly heated and with a setup where I won't bump the barrel on the oven when I'm putting it in

Did the slide today. Left the worn original black Glock finish on to better take the Gun-Kote and save me a lot of blasting. With the slide completely stripped, including the sights, I shot the whole slide in black first where it would show through (back and top of slides and the cocking serations) baked it hot and long.

Then I went back, masked with 3M masking tape, shot the OD, botched up a couple spots and wiped them down with acetone, re-shot that, pulled the masking off, then baked it at low enough temp to not discolor the OD. You can tell if you look close where I had to clean up but you have to look. More noticable is some missing OD on the top of one of the LH cocking serations.

It's not bad enough for me to re-do the whole gun so I'm just going to live with it for now. From here I just have to shoot it a ton and see how it holds up. I'm pretty happy with the results, particularly for a first effort.

Tools used:
air compressor
cheapo sandblaster
Badger 210 hobby airbrush kit
kitchen oven
razor blades
bowls, cups, plates to clean parts and the airbrush on/in

Materials:
KG Gun-Kote in Matte Silver, Satin Black, and OD.
3M painters masking tape (get good masking tape, it makes a BIG differance)
silica sand media for air blasting (they recommend aluminum oxide but I already had the silica)
Cleaned and detail stripped Glock 24P slide and barrel

Looks nice. When I first used GunKote it came in just about any color you wanted, as long as you wanted black. It is a good product and probably the best do-it-yourself finish.

The picture doesn't do it justice but I can't update from work. I'll get a better one up late tonight when I get home.
Edit: That's better!

Here's another:
