Retailer denied my purchase....not NICS

I lived in Texas for 65 years. I was always delayed (never denied) for anywhere from 5 minutes to the next day. When CHL became available I got one and have never been delayed since. The dealer just writes in your CHL number and you're good to go. Easy solution and you really should get one anyway!

I heard today, if you are approved in 2 minutes, then you will usually be approved in 2 minutes all the time, if there is a problem it will continue all the time.
Fortunately mine go right through with no ss# almost immediate.

For better or worse, the individual FFL is God Almighty when it comes to a firearms transaction. If, for what ever reason, they don't feel comfortable selling a gun to you, you are not going to get it (at least not from them). There is no appeal and no one can force them to do otherwise.

Well, I can tell you from personal experience as an FFL ... you heard wrong.
Responses from NICS checks can be a real crap shoot ... with no rhyme or reason as to why they go good or bad on any particular day.

As a gun store, they should be used to delays/denials for "legal" folks, so their treatment of you sounds unprofessional to say the least.

I'd take my business elsewhere. 9 times out of 10 you can find what you want cheaper online anyway, from sites like GB or forums like this one.

How true.
I have a customer that is a reserve police officer, fills out the 4473 the same way every time, each time NICS says 'this transaction requires further review".

About 60% of the time he will be delayed.

What about their treatment was "unprofessional"?:scrutiny:

There's always another firearm down the road. Somebody gives me that hassle and I am gone. It has never happened to me but it could!
