I just got done reading the idiot at Walmart thread, and I had to post. Yesterday, on my way home from church, I stopped in at our local Walmart. Mrs. Plinker and the Plinkettes are in there on a regular basis, but she does not always want to take the time to get me a box-o-bullets, so I went in on my own.

So I get to the sporting goods section, and shore nuff, all the guns in the case are gone, replaced by .177 air rifles. But, the shelves were well stocked with all sorts of cartridges in all sorts of calibers. No one was around, so I started looking.

In less than a minute, a young man came around the corner pulling a pallet jack. I asked him what I needed to do to get some help in the sporting goods section. As soon as he spoke, I could tell that he was developmentally disabled. He said he could help me with some things, but not with all. I told him I wanted to buy some bullets. I know, the purists here will be quick to point out they are not really bullets, but that is what most non shooters call them.

He told me he did not know a thing about the "bullets", but he told me he could sell them to me. He got the key to the case, and with my help got me the boxes I wanted in each caliber. Throughout the entire time he was polite, even friendly. I was polite and friendly too, and I walked out the door without having any problems at all.

I am posting this in hopes that some of you here will lighten up on the people at Walmart or wherever it is that you go to buy your shells, only to find people who are not expert at what they are selling. Just because they don't know as much as you do doesn't make them a lesser person. In some ways, they might be your superior.
