Retrospective....

Hi Dave,

Happy New Year! I've been away from THR for a good bit because I've been much more busy at work and the evenings are when I get out to shoot. OK, enough excuses! I thought I'd check in to see what's happening - and because the grindstone at the office hasn't gotten back up to full speed this week.
The other reason is to do some research on getting a backup trap shooter to my O/U. I made the "mistake" of trying out a friend's single-barrel gun at PGC last evening. It didn't fit right, so that one was a no-go, but the hook got set. On my short list are Browning's BT99, YOUR favorite 870 and Winchester 1100. (Comments and recommendations on these choices are welcome - have I opened Pandora's Box?!)
Where else would I look for info but here? You're all on the mark when you comment about the signal-to-noise ratio here compared to other sites. I'd be up the proverbial creek without this forum when I really need to do research on firearms and choices.

This is the best board on the net. I actually have a hard time reading the other boards, there is so much noise involved in the posts, you have to really filter it out to get out some substance. I dont have the time nor brain waves to do that most times. I am to busy chasing my kids, dealing with other responsibilities etc etc. to devote energy to figuring out who is right and who is posturing.

The THR gives me my info asap. Especially in the Shotgun Forum. I ask a question, I get answers, not commmentary. I need answer, I can usually search for it and find what I am looking for.

For this, I thank all the members of THR.
