Old powder, unknown powder, I'll take it. Heck my current keg of unique is from 1994, loads great.
But I also was reloading for years before I picked up my first bulk or pull down powder.
Definitely not something for new reloaders at all.
My first pull down powder was from a case of 8mm mauser ammo, paid $10 for it at a show, guy said there would be a lot of dead primers, yeah like 1/3. So I took all the duds, pulled the bullets, weighed the powder from 15 or 20 random rounds, then reloaded the powder and bullets in winchester brass with a modern primer.
If you pull the ammo apart your self and reuse it in the same round you're good.
