Reverse the safety on a winchester model 12?

Hi,
I'm a lefty who has been lucky enough to inherit a well worn 1947 winchester model 12. I was wondering since I'm a lefty, if the safety can be reversed so it can be reached easier, thank you.

You need to find an aftermarket safety, like the one listed halfway down the right column. Or on ebay, etc.

I recall that it's possible to make the original fit with a little filing, but that's about all I remember about it.
