Okay this question is sure to make me sound like the part of a horse that what he ate this morning, finds it way out of. BUT what the heck!
I now own 2 Winchester 1300 shotguns. A Defender and a hunting model. Now for the part that's sure to make a few eyebrows raise... I'm a lefty and the safety is set up so that I can move it to the safety on position. But to get it ready to fire I must use my right hand or pull the gun away from my shoulder.

Am I better off just taking it off safety and getting used to it as is? Or can the safety be modified for a southpaw like me.

I'll be watching. I have a 1400 with the same safety and shoot lefty and this bothers me in the field hunting. I've put up with it for years on the gun, but would rather switch it around. I'm going to look at it when I think about it and maybe take the safety apart and check, but I have my doubts.

I really prefer my doubles and my Mossberg's safety position (tang safety), but love shooting that autoloader.
