Picked up both of these within the past week. Got a heck of a deal on them too. Almost mint model 60 ladysmith (I'd say 98%) with the factory locking case and all the papers, and also a near mint Model 36 chiefs special with original box and most papers.
msrtex - thanks. I have a Roy's original pancake to tote it in - I'm proud of it. Flattery will get you everywhere with me. I don't think I put this one in this thread. 27-2, Circa 1971, With my El paso Tanker rig. I got rid of the ill-fitting Pachmayr adapter and now it has a proper Tyler Grip.
Hi All.
I've been a member here for a while but never posted much. I have read quite a bit and have found many interesting threads full of good information. I have been enjoying all the fine revolvers here and thought that I would share a few of mine.
Just picked up a 317-3 unfired in the box at a great price (compared to new). Been looking for a model 18 for over a year with no luck. I am not settling but this will tide me over until I find my 18.
Those grips look correct for about a 1973 to 1982 or so J frame. I am guessing that because I bet they have silver washers on the back, and they stopped pressing the number in about 1982. If they have black washers (I don't think so - just a hunch) they would be 1968 to 1973.
Somebody has some taste to add them to that newer gun. With a Tyler adapter (T-grip) they would likely feel/handle much better.
+1 to kamerer. I hate the rubber booties that come on S&Ws now. They feel good for shooting, but honestly, the wood service stocks with Tyler grips feel AND look good.
