Looking for a good revolver, pistol rest. Considering quality and price, which one you will recommend.

NOTE: I do have Ransom rest, but would like to have something lighter and simpler to use

Here are models available from Amazon UK:

MTM Predator Shooting Rest PSR-30 Rifle Pistol Handgun Shooters Rest for Ranges

Caldwell Matrix Shooting Rest - Green

There are also another two, but I am afraid those are not best suited to shoot revolver or pistol:

MTM (SGR) Shoulder Gard Rifle Rest

Caldwell Unisex's 548664 Shooting Rest, Green, 26.5"

Thanks

Are your guns equipped with the long counterweight as I have seen on some European guns? If so then these may be good. If not then it looks like you may be looking at the wrong rests. The grip of a handgun goes further down than it looks or feels like, so on a lot of the rifle type rests you would be hitting the stuff headed back towards your shoulder. If you find one similar but without the shoulder extension I think you would be happier.

From the bench... just a simple, inexpensive rest. Identical to this San Angelo front rest. If hunting, homemade shooting sticks! memtb

No special, fancy guns, just standard USA revolvers: Ruger Old Army, SBH 5,5", Redhawk 7.5" and S&W 686 6".

As for shoulder extensions, looks look like that they could be removed on 3 of them, except Caldwell Unisex's 548664 Shooting Rest, Green, 26.5".

Ones posted by the OP are kinda "cheesy" plastic, have some and not a big fan of them. Granted they are lighter and maybe the Ranson he has is the one shown below..

Ransom makes several nice pistol rests, this is their "Steady Rest".

Borrowed the idea from Ransom and made a version of my own.

You made really nice rest. BTW, cannot see well, is your rest for the grip parallel with base, or angled?

I've always found that shooting a sand bag was the best way to test a revolver. If you are going to shoot it standing after testing then using a bag helps.

You do not rest the barrel, instead you put your hands on the bag and hold the revolver in two hands. This does steady you enough to produce some great groups.

If I were to choose from your selection I'd go with the MTM SGR.

Second that. A sand bag and a disposable towel to protect the bag from the B/C gap flash cutting a hole in it is a universal substitute for all the alternatives shown here.

A friend of mine has the first one, MTM Predator. It is ok for shooting rifles but not all that great for handguns
