So I'm trying to get my little brother a revolver for his birthday. He really likes the looks of the Smith 686 but I don't have 600-800$ to spend on one person's birthday. Now I know that the taurus 669 and the Rossi 972 are almost identical but what about the Rossi M713. I found one online for a good price but exactly how similar is it I have never seen one in person and it looks very similar from the pictures.

My little brother has a Taurus Judge. It's currently out of service after only about 500 rounds of factory 45 colt. I can't speak for Rossi quality. I would advise you to find a good used SW686 or a used Ruger GP100. The Ruger will probably be less expensive and a little stronger.

What exactly broke on the judge my dad and I have one and haven't had a problem with them yet. They both have around 500 various rounds though them his less than mine. But I also have a Rossi 46202 today has had 1000+ rounds though it since my grandfather bought it new and never a single problem. And if I can find a 686 at a good price I would like to get him one.

Seriously- please go the extra or find something other than a gun to give him.

Definitely look around for a 4" GP-100. The next one I find locally that is priced reasonably is mine. I have a 6" but it's a little big to carry concealed.
