which do you prefer to informally shoot with. a semi auto pistol or revolver? just for fun. no competions or practice for competition stuff. and why? personally, i prefer a semi auto to shoot. they are more fun to me. better balance, more shots before reloading, and i honestly feel they fit my hand better than a revolver. but, in a slow fire shoot off, i can shoot smaller groups with a revolver than i can with my semi auto. longer sight radius and/or better sights i think is the reason.

I'm not going to vote. If I did I would have to vote for both. I have both, like to shoot both, and really don't prefer one over when it comes to shooting them. They both serve different purposes for me though.

Calvin hit the nail on the head. I can't imagine not having both:)

I like shooting a semi-auto a bit more than a revolver, I seem to subconsciously be more deliberate with a revolver and most time I have to fight off the urge to blow right through a mag when I'm using a semi-auto.

We use our Bearcats to shoot at things on the backstop at the 50yd range (about 65ydsto the mound) and we use our Chargers to take the center out of the paper target.

Although I enjoy both and voted so, It's really nice not having to chase down the empty brass when I use the revolvers.

Shooting the revolver is more ergonomic and saves your back from injury. ;)

Plus it is nostalgic, sentimental and it can cure home sickness in some shooters.

I prefer a nice double action revolver. Getting in to "the zone" while firing doulbe action is a wonderful thing. I just don't get that with auto loaders. Not to the same degree anyway.

Shooting well , double action with a revolver is just more satisfying to me. Can't really explain why.

I don't enjoy loading magazines, and I'm not a fan of picking up brass if I don't have to either. ;)

I voted for both, although admittedly there is some sort of mystique about revolvers that I really like. Maybe it comes from having watched so many westerns when I was growing up or just thinking that a revolver somehow looks and feels like a REAL GUN. However, for me this is more relevant when I'm thinking about guns or looking at them rather than shooting, in which case all types are a blast and equally fun.

No problem Ala Dan. I'll pick'em up for you so you won't be leaving a mess behind. And I'll give them to you............................Sure I will..............

Right now I'd vote for both, but am partial to the large bore revolvers. At least up to .44 mag. Haven't gone above that yet. I will be testing the 10mm Glock Saturday after I get the EFK barrel so the jury is out on that one. Since I reload I should be able to get some decent firepower out of it.

There's something special, serious, deliberate, classic about a revolver. I dunno...

And, isn't the Glock a revolver with a really long cylinder? Not quite a Dardick and Tround, but...
