I've been looking for a revolver chambered for 40 S&W. I understand that Smith & Wesson has a Model 610 chambered for both 10mm and 40 Smith. It also has an enormous price tag. Charter Arms also has a 40 S&W revolver but it won't take the 10mm round. Anyone have any first hand knowledge of the Charter Arms quality for this handgun? Any other revolvers chambered for the 40 S&W that you know of? If anyone has something of this type for sale, I'd be willing to take a look at it. Thanks...

Don't think caharter ever made production but taurus has a 40 sw revolver but like sw they are not light weights. Get a 357 mag. More power that even the 10mm can't top it

S&W also offered a 'pure' 10mm, the Model 646. Even tougher to find than the 610. No, mine is not for sale. Dave

The 646 is a .40, not a 10mm. Mine is not for sale either but they can be found in the $800-$1200 range depending on the series and condition.

The Charter Arms .40 has yet to make it to production, though they've been talking about it for a few years now. I wouldn't hold my breath.

The Taurus has only just come out, great concept but still a Taurus. I've owned Taurus handguns before and won't buy another.

This is my 646, it is a 2nd generation, non-PC gun, one of 300 made in 2003. The first generation were Performance Center guns, they made 400 of them in 1999.

Correct, hadn't had my first cup of coffee when I posted. My bad. Dave
