while its to cold to shoot here,I want to do work on my range. I want to rebuild back stop and move it from a 100yrd line to a 200 yrd line.
question is how close to back stop does the target need to be?
would I be safe to have a 200yrd+ back stop, and set target at 25yd-50yd-1ooyrds to hit this mound?
or does each range need its own back stop?
thank you for any suggestions

Depends on the height of the berm, height of your target stands, and the height you shoot from. As long as the bullet hits the berm after going through the target, it should be fine.

General rule, from the height at which the gun will be, you should be able to see the top of the backstop over the target stand, and the bottom of the berm below it.
