I was about to help a new shooter and went through the stacks and I appear to have eaten my copy of the old 1950's Army Training Circular "Only Hits Count" After trying a trip up the Amazon and Googling I am still empty handed

Any ideas on where I might find one?

I will recommend a sticky for links like this and others such as the Vietnam era M-16 graphic instructions ( http://www.astrotx.com/M-16A1 Rifle.pdf )and other non-copyright resources. As the old out-of-print resources get harder to find, it would be gratifying to be able to enjoy these alternatives and to guide new shooters to them.

rust collector,

Thanks for that link as well, That was my favorite comic book and is a compilation of articles from the PM magazine that came to every army unit.

Old Sarge had some great tips for keeping equipment going but it was Connie that had the guys picking up and flipping through the PM Magazines!

When I was a Battalion motor officer I insisted that a copy of each months PM magazine go in our files for the articles on things like refurbishing standard truck tail light units and such. My clerk (a young lady) insisted I simply wanted a complete collection of Connie (and by then also Bonnie) issues next to my desk.

Oh and if any of you guys from the bayonet arguments are reading this there is a picture in the comic of a GI cutting a 7.62 cleaning patch into four equal pieces (as we did before 5.56 patches became readily available) with the FALSE EDGE of his bayonet...unsharpened? ha!

I loved this quote on page 6 of the document:

"You have good material for producing excellent riflemen. Almost all American men like firearms. They would like to be good shots."

Remember when it was the government's position that liking guns was normal, and something that was positive for our nation's security? I'm not much of a "good ole days" guy, but dang.
