Rifle users thoughts on scopes with mounted lasers

IMO a waist of money. Things like that have a very limited role, while they excel greatly in their role. That role is not in the civilian world. I see people that go out and buy a brand new AR styled rifle and add all this garbage to it. Thinking it will help or at least help the rifle look cool when they show it to their friends. When these end up at the range they end up as a distraction from the rifle, and rifle fundamentals.

I see it as putting a 16 year old in a NASCAR or F1 style car to take their drivers test in. Just setting them up for failure. Gotta crawl before you walk.

It also let's an intruder know you have a weapon pointed at them. Sounds more like a deterrent.

I was always taught that the first time a bad guy should know you have a gun is after he has been shot by it. Always made sense to me, the whole "never point a gun at something you do not intend to destroy" saying comes to mind. Deterrents are locks on doors and such, to late for that train of thought once its gun pointing time.

You can collimate the ND Laser Genetics down to a small dot.

And doing so makes it just about useless.
