Graystar's thread about "the People" and "individual rights" got me to browsing the internet. I came across this interesting webiste titled:

International Infromation Programs
USINFO.STATE.GOV

So I'm browsing around and click on the "Right to Bear Arms" chapter. What does it say?
(The accompanying essay is under review.)
Every other chapter has nice long essays. I checked. But not this one. Hmmm? I wonder how long this site has been up and this chapter has been empty? I'm going to put it in my favorites and check on it once in a while. Maybe it's all new and they just haven't got to it yet. Or maybe it's been up for a couple of years and it will never be posted. Is it just a coincidence that this particular chapter is missing? You think?

Interesting, no?

Hmmm.... Read just a bit and with quotes like:

Rights, while often perceived as absolute, are never static or unchanging.

I'm going to have read some more. Not now though. Later...

That essay's been "under review" for most of a year now, it was taken down after complaints by gun owners that it was deceptively anti-gun.

here's an archived version of the essay, from before it got removed.
