I've got a Savage MKII that I'd like to put a bi-pod on. I've not ever added one to any of my rifles before, so I'm kind of clueless about how to do it right. I'd like a light weight bi-pod that would allow me to shoot offhand if I need to without making the gun totally front heavy. Also, It's possible that the it might be used prone on on a bench, so I need it to be long enough for each of those. I'd also like to not spend more than $80-100 on it. I'm looking for suggestions for both length, make, and model.

Thanks!

Hay all just joined was down in the reloader section searching some loads out thought I'd stop up here and look around. All I can tell you is I bought the Winchester bi-pod from Walmart for $40.00 and put it on my Marlin 70 here's a pic I know the scope box is hiding it a little bit but love using this at the range.
