My Savage .17 HMR w/ a detachable magazine seems to have difficulty feeding rounds when working the bolt. Here are some pics

As you can hopefully see, sometimes the rounds will not seat forward enough for the bolt to catch the rim and chamber the round. This happens usually on the 2nd and 4th round. However, it will occasionally occur with 1, 3 or 5.
I have not been able to have a successful series of feeding (Each series of a full mag will have at least 1 no-feed.) What I have tried to do is break in the spring by leaving the mag full for a few days but to no avail.
Can anyone help me out with this problem? Don't know if the pics helped any.
