I'll be picking up my Oly PCR16 this Saturday and have a Bushnell 3-9x40 I'll be using in the mean time until I can save up for a better scope. What kind of mount/rings will I need to mount it for a comfortable cheek weld? Will I need taller rings or should I just get a hi-rise for it and use the rings that are currently on my Bushnell Banner? TIA

I bought a Bushie flattop which came with a 6x24x40 Tasco. It had Weaver-style high rings. See-through. Fit just fine, shooting from the benchrest--which is all I ever did.

I've mostly used Weaver or Weaver-style bases and rings on the great majority of my rifles. .22-250 to .30-'06. Never a problem.

Ring Mount for flattop AR

I got the Lo-Mount Tactical Scope Mount from Wilson Combat. It fits perfectly on most any flattop. I used a 3.5x10x40 scope and have plenty of clearance for a larger objective if needed. It is aluminum and built really well. Might seem a little pricey at $79.95 but you will never have to buy another mount for your AR. Good Luck-

IMHO, the ONLY mount for a 1" diameter scope on an AR:

They raise the scope to the same height as the iron sight level, and just enough to clear the front sight. It's Rock River Arms quality copy of the Armalite version that sells for much more $$$.

Available from SableCo for $42.

Also allows you to remove and replace while maintaining (somewhat) zero.

And they look really good on too!

Scope mount for flattop

Onslaught-

Wow, the mount from Sableco looks exactly like the Wilson Combat mount. If you got yours for $42.00 I must have paid Wilson $37.00 to have their name stamped on the side. Live and learn, I guess. In any event, you are right, this is a good mount. I mounted my scope and cannot see the front sight at all through the scope. It has never gotten loose and I have removed it several times and it returns pretty close to zero when I put it back. Does not dent scopes, either.
