Hi everyone. Quick question.

Have the CZ 527 bolt in 223. Also go the Nikon Buckmaster 6x18 - 40mm scope as a starter scope, or longer if I like it. Got it on sale.

Outer objective is 1.95 "
Outer eyepiece is 1.67 "

Now I need rings. Don't think any place in town has rings so will have to order online.

Any recommendations? Midway has

Warne Permanent rings
Med. .425"
high .535"

or

Burris at .5"

I am leaning toward the Warne high. I figure I need 1 inch to clear the objective bell (1/2 of 2" is 1 inch). I get 1/2 inch from the scope tube and the other 1/2 inch from the ring height.

Any advice is welcome.

How tall are standard CZ rings? I have the same scope on a 204 and it is high enough.

Thanks. Do you know the distance between the objective and the barrel?
How about the scope and the bolt handle?

I think the med. rings from CZ, which are what is shipped with some rifles, are .555.

The Warne high are .535. So .02 inches difference. 1/48 of an inch. I don't think that is enough to matter.

Gun is not handy right now, I can take a measurement tomorrow.

Warnes are good rings. I have them on my Tikka's. I would get the Warnes.

12many sometimes a extended bolt knob will help with ergos, especially on the 527's. It will put your finger tips further away from the scope and also add leverage.

You will always be better off with the lowest mount possible that gives you clearance needed as it will help with a good cheekweld.
