RKBA for Israel - help.

While I support the RKBA of everyone on the face of the earth, Israel included, I don't see what I could possibly do to help. I have about as much control over my own government as a candy bar, and far less control over the government of Israel.
But good luck anyway.

You would think that being surrounding by a large number of people who support wiping out Israel that RKBA would not even be an issue.

I just read an article on a defensive handgun course for civilians offered in Israel. It was in SWAT magazine. I think it was taught Eyal Ben-Artzi and was for "new immigrants." Why do they have this class if it is so hard for civilians to get guns? What are the laws? I'll do whatever I can to help, but I can't think of anything.

From what I understand, the "settlers" along the border areas can justify the right to carry and protect their kids. And many new Israeli citizens locate in these areas for a number of factors.

The Big problem - IMHO - this that Israel has to act in a democratic fashion while in a 50 year state of war with its neighbors. There are 100s of thousands of Arabs that live, work and vote in Israel. Should they also be able to get SMGs? The Arab neighbors all took care of their "Jewish problem" in the 1920's and 1930's.

And while I'm ranting on - - for those of you who think we support Israel too much. We give Egypt 75% every year of what we give to Israel. And we never sent 500,000 young Americans to protect Israel - The interest alone on the cost of Gulf I and II is about 5 times what we are presently giving Israel, and who knows when Gulf II will ever end.

So we give Egypt billions every year, and protect Saudi Arabia with American lives - does anybody remember who flew those planes on 911?

Curent law is summarised in two phrases:

a)Government gives license (may-issue) to gun owners.
b)Government may regulate gun laws at will by executive decree.

Currently, the following people may APPLY:

a)Settlers, guards, taxi/bus drivers, Civil Guard Volunteers, ex-army Lieutenants - only one handgun at max.
b)Professional sportsmen - 1 or two guns each.
c)Hunters - as above.
d)Civil Guard snipers - as above

.22 rifles are banned by said decree. Plinking is illegal.
Get the picture yet?:barf: :barf: :barf:

I would look into fundraising, then start an advertising campaign in Israel to gain dues paying members.

You will need to publish a monthly newsletter and get a website up and running. The website should be updated daily with news that affect the RTKBA so that activists can be informed.

I would also try to convince legislatures that they need to change laws so as to encourage competition shooting. Olympic style small bore rifle and pistol matches should be encouraged among youth, future teams will bring Olympic glory to the state. Anything that encourages marksmanship is certainly good for national security.

Isreal does not supply oil, or any resourse the US uses, as far as I know.
Not to say we shouldn't support Isreal, but we help Saudi Arabi for a reason.
