We will never fully solve our nation's horrific problem of gun violence unless we ban the manufacture and sale of handguns and semi-automatic weapons."
USA Today

Found this on a RKBA website. But it seems like this editorial, and the anti-gunners, in general miss this point....

even if ALL production and importation of firearms were completely stopped today, there would still be at least hundreds of thousands of guns still on the streets and in homes for villains to borrow, steal, and buy to continue their nefarious activities. Enough for gun crime to continue for decades to come.

Why do they miss this ? Comments ?

Fixed that for the USA Today:
We will never fully solve our nation's horrific problem of [strike]gun violence unless we ban the manufacture and sale of handguns and semi-automatic weapons.[/strike] self-reliance, unless we make all people dependent on the government for all basic needs, especially self-defense.

Gun control has nothing to do with reducing violence, but everything to do with controlling the populace.

It's not working in Iraq against the purportedly strongest and most technologically advanced military in the world. It shows that our government is afraid of the common man and his ability to rally against seemingly insurmountable odds and prevail. And our government should be scared because the same thing will happen here if their abuse of the constitution continues for another generation or so, maybe less. That's my guess, if the machines don't become self cognizant and take over first....haha, had to toss in some Terminator stuff in there.

Guerillas always win, because war is not about winning for the US, at least not the Iraq example, it's about politics. Guerillas don't play politics, they shoot the people they want out of their country. Collectively, they simply don't give up, ever, their will is stronger than that of any political organization. Right now, that is the US and its allies in Iraq.

The problem I see with most liberal arguments is that they always seem to ignore history in the regards to what the government does once the guns are taken from the people under the guise of a "safer" life for all. They start murdering people en masse.

See Nazi Germany, Russia, and China for examples of mass genocide from the government that considered themselves benevolent for confiscating firearms. See Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam for examples of guerillas simply not giving up.

As others have stated, it has nothing to do with crime, it is just a rouge for another agenda that they simply cannot state out loud for chaos would ensue upon them quickly IMO. And a lot of government types would begin getting shot at.

Because it’s not relevant to their real goal.
Disarming law-abiding citizens is the goal, and the measure of success.
Criminal possession/use is already illegal; the task, as they see it, is now to make ALL gun possession/use illegal.
