Activism only works if we know what to be activist about. It seems that we have a lot of potential ways to learn of potential threats to the RKBA, but I'm not sure that I have any sense for the reliability or immediacy of these sources.

So from what source do you PRIMARILY get your RKBA threat warnings? Why do you choose that source?

I voted other: The High Road.

I've found that if it's not posted here, I usually won't learn anything by digging it up elsewhere. At least on THR, you get a news story and logical discussion about it.

CNN MSNBC and FOX on the same line , really ?? I watch FOX and read and watch NRA news , , I voted NRA but I think this pole is set up unfair for FOX

And yes, I realize that if everyone took my approach, it wouldn't work. I'd say my second most common source is the NRA - email subscription and Facebook notifications. I don't believe any news source is going to be completely free of bias, so I chose a source that's biased in my best interest.

The High Road is a big one because members here are on top of the ball. :)
I voted national because a lot of times I'll do a news search and just type in gun control and see what pops up and you can bet whenever there's a stirring in gun control the media will jump on it. Granted it means reading through the leftist opinions of the authors but oh well.

This forum. I usually hear about things here first and then a few days later I'll get an email about the same topic from one of the RKBA advocacy groups.

Well, they're on different sides of the aisle, so to speak, but they're all part of the national MSM.

This is largely what I do, but it requires that I engage in proactive searches to accomplish. If I wanted to rely upon someone to show me a potential threat to the RKBA proactively, I dunno who I would rely upon (and hence the poll)....

I'm hearing "I read about it here rather than someplace else."

I guess THR is a trusted source for RKBA threats that pop up nationwide?

Many sources, and they change often. If you're sticking to just a few, you really need to get out more.

Talk radio will sometimes mention something that I haven't heard about on this forum, but it is almost never in depth. I then Google it and find the story and can dig into what's happening where. Drudge is my homepage, but his page only links to other news sources rather than being a source per se. But sometimes there will be a brief headline there about something that I'm not seeing or hearing anywhere else.

I seem to get my news (that is actually news) from one of two places. Here, or postings on facebook from one of the pro-gun groups I follow. I would say it is the social networking itself that gets it out the fastest. I don't have time for Twitter, but I bet if you subscribed to the twitter feeds for SAF, NRA, your good pro-gun lawmakers, etc, you will get it before everyone else.

For fast breaking news? THR as I am here everyday.

Pagunblog.com Snowflakes in hell seems to keep up to-date on day zero virus legislation.

thefiringline.com has a good ongoing summary of second amendment cases; wins, losses, filings and links to arguments, probably better than THR in that there is less shouting of 'OMG we are all going to die!' when a news item comes up, as each case is tracked and updated and doesn't appear to be out of the blue.

Volokh.com The Volokh Conspiracy is a group blog by pro freedom law professors - some have argued before the supreme court and have been cited by the justices in 2nd amendment cases. More academic in their arguments about news stories and legislation, but there is a good chance that the way they see the law falling out is the way it will fall out when it reaches court.

Instapundit.com Glenn Reynolds is a pro-gun law professor, he has published papers on gun rights, gets OP Ed columns in major newspapers and runs a blog that is almost a Libertarian/T Party version of the Drudge Report. Regularly makes pro gun ownership posts. Tends to link to other bloggers a _lot_. Almost a blog aggregator

http://claytonecramer.blogspot.com Clayton helped to destroy Bellesiles and his faked research into gun rights.
