Lee Precision aluminum molds are not only the most economical choice but are basically sprueless as well. And the low price also includes wood handles.
Thanks Articap. I've never had any aluminum moulds and didn't know how they would cast but they must be doing pretty good because you sure see a lot of them in the catalogs. I also saw where Lee has a conical mould for the ROA. I'm toying with the idea of getting that also but I tried conicals years ago iin my 1851 Navy and I didn't like them any where near as much as the round ball.
It's hard to beat the Lee molds for almost anything.
In my ROA I shoot 25 grains of fffg under a pure lead round ball.
The ROA is the most accurate handgun in my arsenal.
I cast a dozen bullet shapes/calibers, including round ball, all with Lee molds. The oldest are over 20 years old and they are still fine. I think they are the best value out there. Good luck.
