Road Warrior: traveling to Lansing, MI & Denver, CO; can I bring my guns?

I'm traveling to Lansing, MI, and Denver, CO for a few weeks for work. I only have one small handgun I'd like to bring, a SP101 9mm revolver. Any problem in those jurisdictions with having that gun at the hotel and being a non-resident?

Do you have a Washington (resident) concealed pistol license? If so, Michigan will honor it, but Colorado won't.
