The Rock Island MAPP series seems to be a direct knock-off of the Sarsilmaz polymer hammer pistols. But the Sarsilmaz are only half the price of the Rock Island. WOW , I remember when Rock Island came out and was famous for the LOW PRICE and good quality. Have any of you seen them ? I just saw one in person today and never heard of or seen them.

If they offer it in a high capacity model chambered in .22 TCM (or 9mm/TCM combo as they did with their 1911s) at a low price point, I'm in.

I have had no issues with MAPPs in 9mm and in 22 TCM with one gripe. The MAPP in 22 TCM requires the slightly shorter 22 TCM9r. I understand that 9mm frames/magazines are less than optimal with regular 22TCM. Gripe1.1 is that Armscor isn't marketing or licensing this great chambering to other ammo and firearm manufacturers.
The handguns are essentially polymer Witnesses, with the same great ergonomics. They were inexpensive at one time, but the market controls and it's up everywhere right now.

Actually, the RIA MAPP is made from Tanfoglio parts; it is the Witness-P. I have seen versions that still had "Tanfoglio" embossed on the grip. Compared to the Witness P, the MAPP is less expensive and the Sarsilmaz design is cheaper than both. I have always assumed the SAR design borrowed a lot of details from Tanfoglio.

I have respect for all three manufacturers; if any one of them were outfitted with a decocker, I'd have bought it long ago.

Update: To be more precise, it is the Witness-P Carry (also known as the Force Carry). In reviewing the RIA site, you can see the photos of the MAPP are clearly marked "Tanfoglio".

It does seem that Armscor is selling 2 Tanfoglio models for less money than EAA asks for them.

The Sarsilmaz B6 pistols are cheaper still.

I purchased my B6P pistol for a total of $241.43 from Sportsman Guide in 2015. It is the gun I keep with me while I'm driving,

Here is my review:

One note, the B6P is not as ergonomic as the Tanfoglio because of the angled ridges in the rear.

The Tanfoglio Witness Polymer has a much more smoothed out frame where the safety is, by the beavertail - compared to the SAR B6P. If I try to get a high grip on the B6P, the squarish polymer block in the back irritates the inside of my thumb of my shooting hand and the trapezoid block of polymer just forward of the slide stop makes it hard to really snug the thumb of my non-shooting hand up against the frame for a thumbs-forward position. But both the SAR and the Tanfolglio have that trapezoid protrusion forward of the slide stop lever.

I picked up a combo early last year. Not sure what they sell for now, but at $320 for it new I feel like it was an outstanding deal. it. It’s run flawlessly every time I’ve taken it out.

I have the RIA MAP steel frame but now I don't see it at their website, not available anymore? I prefer the RIA Tanfoglio over EAA because they are small frame that uses the CZ75 mags and also because the RIA transferrable Life Time Warranty. My MAP has Tanfoglio marked on the grip panel.

I wanted one of the Compact models in 22tcm. However, they stopped making them. I have the 22tcm carbine and I wanted one of these to go with it.

Disappointing to see they don’t offer the MAPP in 22TCM any longer. They dropped the steel frames a couple years ago.
