Hey guys,

I just ordered 500 of these and was wondering if you guys had used this and waht kind of load data you were using. I am planning on using the rest of my Unique with them hopefully. I would like to make sure they are at the 1100fps range so that they expand reliably like they recommend.

What have you guys been using with these?

Just as a for warning, hand loading is done at your own risk and I am not recommending you to follow this data. This is just what the hornady manual says about their 124gr projectiles. The hornady 10th edition load handbook has their 124gr xtp (HP) and 124gr FMJ-FP listed at a C.O.L of 1.060 and 1.050 respectively and a starting charge of unique at 4.0gr pushing 900FPS and a max charge with pressure signs of 5.0gr topping at 1100FPS. Good luck and YMMV

They load short, work up carefully, I cannot guarantee this data is under max, use at your own risk. 1157 is a tad spicey for Silhouette and a 124 Gr jacketed. Likely in the top of +P range judging by the Western Powders 6.0 PDF.

The RMR 124MPR HPs clear in a barrel with no leade at 1.03" OAL. Most barrels have enough leade to accommodate 1.07-1.08" but you must plunk beyond 1.03". I have developed 1150fps loads using CFE-Pistol and BE86 @1.03". These are by all indications both right at the non +p max, so work up to them. Loading lighter isn't a great idea with these powders. Like most anything else in 9mm using jacketed bullets loaded to max with these powders, they are accurate in most guns.

Sorry, no Unique, but being similar in burn rate should be workable too.

This is under Hodgdons listed MAX of 5.3gr of WSF with a 125 FMJ @ 1.16 but the OAL is quite a bit shorter.
No pressure signs in my pistol but at this OAL I would consider 5gr of WSF very close or at the MAX for non +P pressures and might be getting into the +P pressure range with this bullet @ 1.065

I think that's all what I have currently. I am working on the Alaska ferry right now and can double check when I get back home on Friday

From Alliant 05 -13 years old - so I would be careful using it
(Interesting in the 05 data they show Bullseye faster than Unique for most loads except the 95 FMJ)
2017 Data shows more what I would expect with slower burn speed powders giving higher vels

As an update/range report 1.075 COL and 4.8 grains of Unique worked out really well and was super accurate. I do not have access to a chrono currently so am not sure if it will reliably expand at that rate, but wow. Very impressed with the accuracy in my glock 19 that is for sure!

I am happy with RMR 124gr MPRs, they shoot well for me, glad they shot well for you also.
Looks like they shot well for Walkalong as well.
Excellent bullets IMO.

Edited 124 not 125, fat fingered:oops:

I have been loading mine with 4.4gr w231 COL 1.09 but I worked up from 4.0gr which cycled the PPQ M2 but felt weak. 4.4gr was the most accurate.

I
Hornady data for Unique seems awfully low.

I've used Stephan A. Camp's 9x19 load for Unique and 124 Gr XTP's for quite some time as a favorite for many years. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...s-for-browning-hi-power-opinions-sought.3732/

It is a +P load...and the RMR bullets would require a complete workup.

Im not going to lie. I have been eyeballing that load this whole time and stewing on whether I wanted to try this or not. Having tried them at 4.8 I'd really like to work it up a bit to get closer to camps data but without a chrono I am kind of shooting in the dark. It's definitely been on my mind though.

For me I settled on 5.3gr of CFEP,OAL 1.050 as a starting point..then laddered up.

I have loaded almost 3,000 124 grain RMR bullets, using unique. Works great in my shield.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Hodgdon shows a MAX of 5.1 with a 125.
I would think 5.3 would be getting into +P pressures but Hodgdon does not list +P data.

I load these at 1.120. They pass the plunk test in my KKM 9mm barrel and run great in both the G19 and the Ruger PC9.

All the talk of loading them short had me go and redo the plunk test just now and it plunks just fine.
