anyone have any experience/exposure with the rogers and spencer revolver/kit that dixie sells? They seem to list 4, from what I have seen in the archives they are one of the best revolvers out there for accuracy and targets.

That is a nice looking piece, Smokin' Gun! Is that the Target model? I wonder why Dixie Gunworks sells the London Gray for $100 less than the blued model? Is the blued finish that much nicer? What is the ring around your cylinder? Is that aftermarket?

Thinkin' about a new cap and ball gun, maybe Dragoon or 1860 Army, or then again, 1851 Navy!

Both the originals and the replicas seem to have a good reputation for accuracy.

My replica does not like lite loads though, patterns like a cylinder choke shotgun with spreader loads. But the group tightens up nicely if I'm a little more generous with the powder.

Little point that bothers me is I sometimes get a light pinch to the top of my trigger finger between the trigger and the edge of the trigger hole in the frame. Not enough to hurt in any way, but a distraction.

My R&S is one of the more accurate c&b revolvers I have, on par with my ROA. I takes a while to get used to the large flare in the grip bottom and to me the hammer spur is very high making it difficult to cock with just one hand. I have to move my hand up on the grip to reach the hammer, then down for firing.

Being a Level one Kit they sell , it will obviously take some work to get it to look like the $450 Blued Model that's already finished . Whats you time worth and your talent is the question here ? That extra $100 don't mean much if you have little talent or time . :D
I have found on both my examples of finished guns that thier Bueing is superb to anything I can do :) .......Personally I would just buy a finished one unless your up for a challenge and have some real talent too and supplies and tools to get her done . Looks like the picture shows the kit having finished grips ?
I doubt that , but if it is you'll be extremley lucky ! Those Rogers grips are the HARDEST grips to make fit the frame , lots of reverse contours to the frame metal , especially at top of grip frame , I have found them to be challenging , very .
Took me 30 years to get good enough to make them look like this :D

I would just buy the finished gun , if I wasn't me :D
And as stated before my opinion of the Euroarms Rogers and Spencer is VERY HIGH , it is in a class by itself , both in accuracy and finish , they are extremly well built . And the very short hammer throw makes Lock Time extemely fast , hence the accuracy help there too :D

And... Jaeger's R&S feels as smooth and nice as it looks too !!! I was amazed at the shortness of throw for the hammer when cocking it. Handling one today... makes me want one now. :D

Ha ha ha

Ratpuppy68 , hee hee hee , I could tell your hooked on the R and S yesterday when you cocked mine in my gun room and went , "WOW" :D
..Man these things are addicting huh Ratpuppy68 :D , LOL ....After you handled 20 different cap and ball styles/models or so yesterday , you realy got it bad now man :D , hee hee hee , let the games begin .

You better get to buyin one Blacknet ! If you want Oooober Accurate , get the Target Model :D ...Actualy you need both and a London Grey for good measure :D

Cheers, Jaeger

I just couldn't let a post on the R&S revolver go by without sayin' again, it's my favorite BP shooter...and of course, here's mine (again)!!!
