I'm not lucky enough to have a "Arms room" yet. But we have an old farmhouse, with enourmous rooms. So my safe and box fit nicely in the master bedroom. Far from ideal, but at least I have quick access.

Cheap stuff like Husky, Craftsman, and Harbor Freight won't hold up.
Husky is pretty good. Craftsman is cheap. Harbor Freight has one that is heavy duty. When it goes on sale it's a real deal.

I have a friend who picked up at surplus one of those large filing cabinets for storing/filing full sized drawings and it sits in his shop/reloading area. The drawers are shallow but deep and wide and he keeps all his T/C barrels in one drawer now lined in felt and beautifully displayed. These guys do take up some floor space/room but they will store a multitude of tools and toys.

I use Plano clear plastic tackle boxes to keep small items organized. The boxes are cheap, stackable and I can see whats in them.

+1 for avoiding the bigger name brand inexpensive tool boxes. I have dozens of older Craftsman tools, and had an older tool box that was solid as granite.

For Christmas I was gifted with the stackable 3 drawer sets from Craftsman... I had to return them twice.

The sliders of the first set came apart in the box. and the bottom (where the wheels mounted) was crumpled in shipping on the first one. On the second one the sliders came apart , and the fronts of the drawers were bent in.

Not very secure if someone trying to break into a locked toolbox can simply push the drawer in like tinfoil and reach past it. They can't even survive being transported to the store.

It was NOT fun having to drag my gift-giver out repeatedly to exchange, then to get the items refunded to their accounts, rather than turned into gift cards. Thankfully they were nearly as offended in the drop in Craftsman's quality as I was.

Maybe I'll have them spend the money on Snap-On gift certificates and save up the difference in price myself.

It all depends on one's budget and the planned use. I agree some tool boxes don't accommodate ammo very well due to its density. I learned that by trying it.

For my current purposes, the Craftsman roll-arounds work fine.

I so wish I still had my Dad's sears blue 'burnables' rolling cabinets. Basically, they were metal cabinets on casters, the same size as a bottom drawer cabinet but with only one shelf behind a pair of doors. He stored thinner and stain in it, would have been great for my reloading stuff. I may have to find one of those now.

I got mine for under $100, but it was a scratch and dent special. It was actually one of their better boxes, I just got a good deal. I have at least 20 lbs in a couple drawers. They are rated to 25. But they are not sagging or buckling, and still roll beautifully. There are lots of boxes out there that wouldn't.

Roll cabinets make excellent storage for ammo and gun related items. Have a number of Snap-On's and they are the best built. For the money, the Seville line from Sam's Club is a good buy.

I have an old Steelcase ten drawer card file cabinet. Each drawer holds 42 boxes of 12 gauge or 54 boxes of 20 or 28 gauge ammo. Drawers are ball bearing glides and work perfectly. It does not have wheels and weighs a lot when fully loaded, but works great
