I have a vintage Remington rolling block 22, probably made around the turn of the century. It's a very light, slender, graceful little thing, a joy to shoot but getting just a little too worn for regular use.

(It is very similar to the rifle posted on this old thread:
http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=3515931&postcount=2)

I'd love a modern version in .38 or .357, perhaps with better sights, but keeping the small, graceful shape and weight. All of the modern reproduction rolling blocks I see are built on massive frames designed for 45-70 class cartridges.

My understanding is that Remington made their little rifles on frames originally designed for their pistols. I know that modern reproductions of these pistol are available now, in the caliber I want, too, but I have never found a rifle or carbine offered on these little frames.

Any ideas on where I should look?

Navy Arms (I think they were made by Uberti) used to sell a .357 version that was not built on a huge 45-70 frame.

I have one of the navy arms/uberti 357's I believe they still sell em. I need to post pics I suppose.

But yea it's extremely light and handy, equiped with a WGRS sight it's pretty accurate too.

rolling block, no, but falling block mebbe
every now and then Browning has put out some Lo-wall and/or Hi-walls in various calibers... including rimfire

a tad pricey, and not really the "vintage nostalgia replica style" offered by most "replica" vendors, but real pretty, and real shootable.. but not easy found, and not cheap when found, and not for everybody

I do wish somebody would get half serious abut doing a petite slim trim falling block something like that, somewhere in the middle of a Favorite 22 w/ really poor workmanship and a ridiculous rough action, and a $1000+ limited run "for investors in maybe future collectible commemorative"..

something just for us weekend fun shooters
if they can put bolts and levers out there in that middle price range....
(but it ain't ever going to happen) :(

Had a .32 rimfire RRB when a kid, went into the army, when came home nobody knew where it went, wish I had it today. (over 50 years later)
