Guns for Teacher?

It happens every time. A gun nut or some deranged students kill some kids at school, and pro-gun advocates are right there with the solution: Arm Our Teachers. This time, it’s a Republican lawmaker in Green Bay, Wisconsin, who says teachers ought to bring guns into the classroom to protect themselves. “Sometimes when people are intent on harming others, the only reasonable response you could have is to confront them with firepower to stop them,” says Frank Lasee, the pol who proposed this lunatic idea.

According to Lasee, the method has been successful in Israel and Thailand, where schools were once heavily targeted by terrorists.

In the meantime, amid the swirl of political news and wars overseas, a moment of silence for the little girls killed in Pennsylvania.

rolling stone is a liberal biased rag, none of their views have any merit

What does this have to do with music and WHY should I listen to Rolling Stone's oppinon on it???

Nothing, and, well, you really shouldn't. :D I did find it interesting how the writer included probably the most lucid, logical thing I've seen uttered yet in regards to the recent spate of school shootings -- “Sometimes when people are intent on harming others, the only reasonable response you could have is to confront them with firepower to stop them” -- and then proceeds to call it a lunatic idea with absolutely nothing to back up that assertion.
As for Rolling Stone and music, I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with this when I saw it. I know Joan Jett didn't write it, but I thought it was great.

Although in the recent issue w/ Jack Nicholson on the cover they do a nice piece on the Gunstore in Vegas as part of their best of Vegas package. Listed as Best Bang for your Buck
and Hunter Thompson who was a great contributor to RS always wrote of his love of guns.

Oh please, ROLLING STONE? I was expecting newsweek, Time, or something worse. Rolling Stone is worthless, and means nothing. Just ignore it as i do.

BTW, they make good targets.

If I wanted some actual political or social insight, I would go to people who specialize in studying society or politics. Seems a reasonable idea to me to seek information from people who actually know about what they're talking about.

But when I'm checking my celebrity death pool to see which grunge/alt/metal/emo frontman offed himself with 10lbs of cocaine, you better believe that Rolling Stone is the first place I'm gonna go.

RS has been wimpy

for over 2 decades.

If they represent "Rock" Then I represent astute journalism.

Actually I would probably make a better journalist then 99% of RS staff.
