2 years ago I bought a Rossi / Braztech 16 inch lever in .38 / .357. I’m a hand gun guy but this became my favorite range toy and will feed any .38 or .357 I have put through it even when mixed in the tube. I wanted a revolver chaimberd in .357 as a companion when I’m in the field but with all my trading and wheeling and dealing over the last 30 some years I found my only .357 was my S&M mod. 19 snub. Now I don’t baby my guns that much but I just don’t like carrying the 19 in the field so I have been looking for a Ruger Blackhawk in .357 convertible as I also have a few 9mm. Waiting for one to turn up locally or at a gun show as I’m not in a hurry. Well while checking with the local pawn shops bi weekly I found a Rossi 46103 .357 3inch barrel for $ 260 out the door. Gun looked new and lock up was good even still had the unused warranty card. I’ve had 2 Rossi guns In .38 over the years and don’t remember any problems so I got it. Gun shoots great and is very accurate so I’m thinking there’s nothing special about the gun so I’m going to shoot the snot out of it with .357s, if it breaks I’ll send it off for repair (life time warranty ) or sell it as broke for parts. Well after doing a little research I find out that the 3 inch guns were under contract and only sold through Sports Academy. Up till now iv never had a 3 inch wheel gun. I have always went shorter or longer. I like the 3 inch Rossi it’s a tad bit bigger than a J frame but a good bit smaller than a K frame. Hides really good for a .357. O well guess the hunt is back on for the Ruger.
