Why would blanks be bad in a revolver but be fine in a semi auto in this situation? I should have thought of it, but blanks are the best Idea. It beats scratching the hell out of the bore.ricebasher302 said:What if you happened to have some blanks available in the particular caliber. Would a blank have sufficient energy to fire the slug out? Would that be smart?

WHY are you guys even putting ANY oil in your chambers and on the bolt face???????????????? The chamber and bolt face should always be dry as a bone unless the gun is going into storage in a humid area.
