Some time ago I had a gunsmith remove the magazine disconnect safety and install a wide combat trigger on my BHP. He also rounded the trigger and sear lever contact edges to improve the trigger pull. Soon after the trigger failed to engage the sear lever-I suspect because the two rounded surfaces simply slipped past each other. He replaced the sear lever and left it alone, but the trigger lever remains rounded to this day. It's had a few hundred rounds through it since, but I've always wondered if this would become a reliability issue. Any BHP experts out there with an opinion on whether I should replace the trigger lever?
I've attached a picture to show what I'm writing about - poor quality, but good enough to get the point across.
Thanks,
