just mentally going over what I have and some new thigs I might like to have. figured I'd share my list. most of these are cartridges I already have firearms for, so - the would be backups or additionals. the only new cartridge would be .357

I have a few other things, but - was just listing things that I might like another one of - that sort of rounds a a collection of having 2 guns for each cartridge, without adding too many more catridges to work with.

Am I the only one who does this? I'll look for years and try to justify a purchase of soemthing I already have, but well - since prices are high and I'm frugal, left to daydreaming.

Other than the never ending collecting of WWI rifles, I want one more - at least currently - rifle for my potential use battery: An adult .22 long rifle long gun. I have my eye and hopes on a CZ 457 American. I tend to avoid 'plastic' stocks and I prefer a rather traditional stock design. I have several CZ/Brno rifles and am impressed at the quality of materials and workmanship and at the same time "affordable" (not cheap, either) prices.

I find myself in a situation where practically, I have too many guns. I know. Blasphemy. But it's true, I have more guns than I need and all my bases are well covered, but lately I can't stop thinking about a 6" .44 magnum or some type of large bore revolver. I shot a .450 revolver this past summer and I got a good feeling out of it, just kind of chasing it, the largest handgun I own is a G17.

That's what my wife tries to tell me, but I only have 10 in my cabinets, 4 of which aren't really mine, the m 60 glenfield she claimed, m 60 is my 7 yo grandson's, lakefield 64b is my 11 yo grandson's and the Sav m11 is going to my granddaughter. There isn't many left, my response is that I had 30 when we got together, I'll have 30 when I'm again. After all it's only fair, sold most to pay bills. Some given away to family. Besides those family members who like firearms will cherish them when I'm gone.

One day my 7 yo grandson wanted to see his Marlin, had to remove my m700 first, "oh yeah that's mine" was what I heard, do that will go to him as well.

Well, you're not getting any younger; the last thing you want to do is wait so long, whatever you want is unavailable or you look back with regrets about not buying it years ago.

If your wife tells you that you have too many guns, you don't. If you think you have too many, you might.

I'm not a "collector" but I do look for things that I don't have that fit somewhere with what I do have. Added a Gold Cup National Match recently to my other 1911s, and a Marlin .45 Colt to pair with my Bisley Vaquaro in the same caliber. Now my local shop has a 6" .41 mag Smith that is tempting, as I have quite a few Smith revolvers but sold my only .41 mag years ago. Dreaming is perfectly acceptable, it's the buying that gets you in trouble.

Hi...
Lots of firearms reside hereabouts.
Always looking to add some more if I can find a good deal on something that catches my eye.
Right now watching for a .357Mag lever action rifle with a loading gate.
Also thinking about a nickel plated SAA clone in .45Colt with a 7-2/2" barrel.
Not likely to pass up an N frame in .44Spl.

Over the years, the semi-autos I own have a tendency to be "ammo wasters" because it is so fun to do a mag dump. These include my 10/22, a .380, an AK, and a PMR-30. I have considered a CMR-30 to go with the PMR, esp. as they use the same magazines, but the price of .22 Magnum ammo is just too much.
I already have a bolt action .22 Mag rifle for hunting and "varmint control" at shorter ranges so the CMR may not be "needed". o_O

I've rounded out the collection by buying the most preposterous rifle I could find - an Archangel Mosin that was put together by one of the local gunsmiths. It was once a very nice hex receiver gun with a very fresh barrel and a cracked stock. The smith bobbed the bolt handle and added the scope mount using the Archangel kits, then added a bi-pod.

I'm adding a Timney trigger and a nice old Weaver K-4 scope.

Making a silk purse out of a sow's ear... .

Ive been day dreaming about a Wichester Super Grade Maple stock for a long time.
Can't decide 243, 308, or 7mm Rem mag.

Considering selling two or three rifles to justify buying it.

Also a Savage Elite Precision rifle
CZ bobwhite G2 double barrel 12 ga
are two more I've been eyeballing.

Also need 4 inch 29 classic....errr maybe a 4 inch 329 can't make up my mind.

Then I'll be done......for a while.

There are not too many I’d like to add, but they have been on my list for a while.
Uzi 9mm would have to be an sbr to look right.
357 lever carbine with blued octagon barrel & walnut stock.
Coonan 357 with adjustable sights.
COP 357 4 barrel pistol.
Thompson contender 14” 357, 30-30, 17Rem, & .22
Smith & Wesson mod 66 4”.
That’s pretty much everything I’d like and I’d be happy with just a few.

If I add anything to my collection it will be anything but tactical or high capacity. Things I would consider buying;
Side feed lever action carbine chambered in .357
.357 revolver with a 3 inch barrel
Side feed lever action carbine chambered in .45-70
Scoped bolt action rifle, undecided on caliber
Charles Daly Triple Threat, just because

I'm just waiting for the Republik of Illinois to legalize straight wall cases for deer so I can agonize over which one of five to choose. 357, 44, 44, 444, 45-70. That is what I dream about other than how to shrink the number of unused guns I bought during my gun shop years that "would be really cool to have".

I’ve bought “guns that I always wanted” for over 40 years. There’s nothing that I have on my list right now but I will pick one up here and there that just appeals to me.
This is almost always a used gun that’s not made any more. My last two were a Savage 24 and a Remington 1100 20 gauge.

Dreams do come true. I succeeded in checking off most of my boxes last year. And sometimes, you don’t even realize that what’s being offered is a dream until you own it.

I'm very fortunate to have checked most of my boxes but, I'd still love to add a JM stamped 1894c in .357 mag. The $1000+ price tag these days is a little off-putting.
