My dad asked me for help in finding rubber grips for his Ruger Security Six .357 Mag. four inch. It has a prefix code of 150. He can only find grips that are for the prefix 151, or as he explained it.

Does Pachmyer make grips for the older Ruger Security Six? His is mint and is a great shooter. It is nice and slim, but the wood grips are a little small.

He lives in Minnesota and has a CCW. Although it has a four-inch barrel, he prefers it and can hide it easily under a light jacket. Also, he is a super shot with the Ruger as compared to a semi-auto.

Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to make him happy at Christmas.

I'm looking for the Speed Six in 9mm with a 3-inch barrel. The first one I see at $400 or less is mine.

You should be able to get Pachmayr grips for the Security Six, mine had the Presentation grips, as I recall. Ruger hasn't made the Security Six for quite a number of years, so I don't think you have to worry about "old" model vs. "new". I'm not sure when they changed to the GP100, but I think it was in the early to mid '80s. Don't let your Dad sell his, I sold mine and have regretted it ever since. I do have a GP100, but the Security Six I had was very nice, it was my first magnum, I shot it pretty well, still can't figure out what I was thinking about when I sold it.

There are two grip frames on the security six. Only about 10% of the guns TTBOMK have the old style.

If it were me I would check out eBay and pick some up there.

i don't think the 150 series was out long enough for the aftermarket to product grips for them...i'm thinking you're going to have top go with a set of wood grips to straighten out that recoil shoulder
