Who has one? What do y'all think of it? As a small game pistol? As a silhouette gun? Plinker?

How about home defense weapon???

From what I've read, rounds coming out of the 10" barrel is very very close to that of a 16" barrel. My only concern would be the reliability of a rimfire cartridge since the 10/22 platform is well proven.

Had one. Mounted a cheap red dot. Shot the hell out of it for 2 years. Great plinker - accurate - no failures, etc. Sold it when I needed money. Fun gun for the range and small game. IMHO, not a HD choice.

I have one and seldom shoot it... bought it on a whim but with little regret.... I shoot and work (tinker) on several 10/22 rifles and the Charger just seemed practical at the time.... just a very short 10/22.

My gun club tried to start a silhouette competition and the Charger is what I used... but it fell through because of lack of participation.

to answer your questions:

If I was going to hunt small game with a 22lr pistol, I'd much prefer a standard Ruger MKIII hunter or such.

As a silhouette gun I think it has it's place but when I was using it for that it did not have a rating.... can't remember if that was good or bad in the scoring. Those guys love their high end single shots.

as a plinker.. well to be honest... using the bipod on a bench it is kind of boring... hard to miss what you are shooting at with the right optic... but my 9 year old niece loved it. So, it is a good gun for the young to start with.

Home defense? You've really got to be kidding...

there is a way it could be used for this, I suppose, but it requires permanent modification to the bolt and trigger, a 25 round magazine and violation of a number of Federal laws... So, I'd advise something else for sure.

I've had the Charger since they first came out.

It's my laid back relaxing gun, for when I just want to sit down and plink or try to shoot little groups.

Nice plinker

I had a charger. It was fun to shoot but didn't really feel right. I would either get a pistol or a rifle rath than the in between gun. Just my opinion though.
