Have been considering getting a 10/22 Takedown for camping/backpacking, but thought I saw a thread somewhere that owners were having problems with the parts lining up properly.
Anybody have information on this? Has the problem been resolved?
Thanks for the help guys.

That's not a problem I've experienced, and I've had a TD since they first came out. I've found them to assemble and disassemble easily and hold zero even after repeated disassemblies.

Mine has been just fine. I've had it for about a year and a half. It has functioned find on every type of ammo I've fed it.

It is not as simple as many but is not a problem any longer either You Tube has several guys showing and explaining the steps .. Now just taking one apart with no instructions yea It is a tough one alright .

Mine was one of the first, it had a bur on the the barrel that I knocked off with the stroke of a file. Other than that read the instructions and there is nothing to it.

I've read about a few shaving bullets on feeding due to slight misalignment, short thread at RFC. Also saw a pic of an improperly cut crown that should have been caught if not at the factory, by the purchaser, it was that obvious.

Never had a problem with the one I bought for my son fall of 2012. His prefers Fed. Auto Match and CCI SV for inexpensive ammo, didn't bother testing more expensive stuff.

There is an adjustment to keep the barrel tight against the receiver. If not done properly you may have some issues. If you follow the instructions and put it together right it is as good as any standard 10-22's

I have had one for a little over a year and it has been flawless. For consistent zero following TD, it's important to keep the barrel adjusted nice and snug to the receiver. That in fact is the one feature that I like so much about the design, in that, it can be adjusted in the first place, love mine. I just wish 22 lr ammo would come back so I could do more shooting with it.

Zero problems with mine so far. No lead shaving or failures of any kind. It shoots well with any ammo I've tried. This is my favorite 10/22 version to date. My only gripe is that BIG red Ruger emblem they put on the black pack. A tan or light grey pack without the emblem would be my choice. YMMV. tom.
