Anyone had any luck putting a small storage space in the factory wood stock of a Ruger 10/22? I'd love to find a spring-loaded door like they have on some (all?) M1As that would fit the 10/22. Thanks!
A friend of mine drilled a couple holes back there on his, one is just big enough to stack a couple extra rounds and the other has matches and a wad of cotton.
The early 1022 made of real walnut by SE Overton (1964-1970) had dowel holes in the buttstock for weight considerations. Seems it could be done fairly easily with todays birchers. Of course it's under the buttplate!
