Alrighty, my first time posting here on these forums. :)

I saw the MG-42 Conversion for the Ruger 10/22 and that made me think... If they have that conversion what other stuff is out there. I have done the google search looking at link after link relentlessly only to discover massive amounts of conversions for accuracy or different bore. I am looking for "head turning" dress-up kits or conversions to take out to the range, so when Im not playing with the AR the guy beside me overlooks me pulling out my 22 wondering "wow what the hell is that".

More or less just looking for a "toy".. Any ideas or links?

The MG42 conversion looks cool on screen. Up close it looks like cheap plastic - like something you bought at Toys-R-Us. But yes, there are so many conversions out there for the 10/22 it's almost ridiculous. There are kits out there to make them look like Walther WA2000's and Steyr AUG's, for example.

Those, however, are a bit pricier.

Ahhh, a show-off piece. I'd be much more impressed of the performance of a firearm than how pretty it look. If you buy a gun to get looks , but it doesn't shoot worth a darn, why have it at all. In other sports, these types are cslled posers I believe. Do you really wanna be a poser?
Do a bit of both. A well put together 10/22 can shoot GOOD and look GOOD. Hang out at Rimfire central and look around (long thread on "Ultimates") You'll see some awsome 10/22's that shoot as good as they look.

I would not consider that being a poser at all.. I would consider a poser the person that comes out to the range with a $10,000 rifle who has to look over at me and ask how to get the magazine out (yes this has happened) I have been there done that one the accuracy/performance of my firearms. Now, is the time in my collection that I just want something that looks unusual, I mean who is going to show up at the range and pull out a MG-42.

A appreciate the input on the mg-42 dress-up though.
