I have a Buckmark already, but I've been offered a NIB 22/45 with interchangeable grips (only has the Ruger rubber ones with it) and a factory threaded barrel (but without the rails that one of those models has) and 2 magazines for $300.

A friend bought it and now has the need to sell it. Told me he paid closer to $330 for it from the LGS.

I'm always looking for something cheap to shoot (e.g. - my Buckmark which also has a threaded barrel but an aftermarket one from Tac Sol).

Just curious what everyone's thoughts on the 22/45 are and if that's a good price (seems like a decent one, but not entirely sure as there's a wide variation on price from that I've seen from as low as $250 up to around $400).

Thanks.

Great gun, I got one about 3 months ago and it comes to the range with me every time. I got mine NIB from gunbroker for 200 + 35 SH + 20 transfer. Mine did not come with interchangeable grips or a threaded barrel, so 300 sounds reasonable. I plan on getting another 22/45 as soon as finances allow, they are excellent pistols. My wife loves shooting it too. Some people will complain about the field strip process and to be honest, the first time you take it apart it will be a pain but after you "figure it out" it's no biggy. Plus there are several youtube videos on it.

^ what Psa1m144 said. Great gun, bought mine (same model as the one youre looking at - threaded barrel, no rails, interchangeable grips) about 4-5 months ago for about $340 + tax, so $300 is pretty good. Think I have around 4k rounds through it so far, no hiccups. Waiting for my suppressor to get back from the ATF, so dont know how it runs suppressed, but hear its pretty good.

I have the same model with the rails. With a Volquartsen trigger assy, it will out-shoot (in my hands) pistols costing twice as much. I paid (with the V trigger) approx $450 total.

I'm in the bought one, waiting on the suppressor club too.

But its a wonderful shooter out of the box. I got the one with the sights, no rail, but added a Ruger rail (had one leftover form from somewhere) and use the cheap red dot that came with my SIG 556 rifle (ridiculous that SIG lits it at $199 on their website, you can buy better for less than half this from Primary Arms).

They run $310 - $330 at gun shows here, some have the sighted model higher others the rail model higher, no logic to it as far as I can tell.

I hope the sights clear the suppressor (Sparrow), But my old eyes really do better with a red dot.

I'm looking at the $258 dollar one from Buds right now. I may regret not getting the removable grips eventually but I just want something cheap to shoot at the range to get some more trigger time without breaking the bank.

Thanks for all the responses so far!

I too have the plan to get a suppressor soon (when funds and wife permit ;) ). I believe one suppressor would be fine for both my Buckmark and this pistol (same thread measurements as far as I can tell), which is part of why I'm so interested.

Seems like a decent deal, and I have no problem giving a gun a home.

I just picked up a Mk.III 22/45 at the GS last night. They are a bear to field strip at first, but after the third or fourth time it is much easier. I paid $320 It is more of 1911 style handle than the old school Luger handle. I could have picked up the Luger style Mk III for $265, or gone with a nicer set up target piece Mk. III for $400. I'm on the way to the range right now to try this pup out.

Yeah I pretty much reassembled it incorrectly and spent my hour at the range cussing and trying to fit that little pin in behind the retention pin assembly while my wife shot her Sig. I think I have the routine down now, I will purchase that sear now that I know what the trigger is supposed to feel like in a functions check hopefully I won't look like a window licker at the range next time. I shot it off the back porch to try it out (what I should have done before the half hour trip to the range) the trigger doesn't seem too bad, but this seems like a reasonable cost to make it a little better.
