Ruger 45 LC Bisley

It'll be a learning experience for sure. I'm a user of the Weaver stance, and not too good of a shot with one hand, but am willing to learn. I like the unfluted cylinder, and the scroll work is a nice touch, I'm afraid though I might need a Bearcat sooner or later, let's hope not, but I've been running out of excuses.

My first center fire handgun was a blued ruger bisley in 45 colt with a 7 1/2 inch barrel , I shot alot of rounds through that gun and really enjoyed it . Enough so that i wanted a duplicate in stainless , well at the time ruger did not offer one in stainless so i bought the peices to put one together and added a belt mountain base pin ,11 degree forcing cone ,wolf spring kit and a trigger job and opened the cylinder mouths to .4525. it has seen alot of rounds go down the pipe and is still very accurate . sorry but my camera and photo skills are not very good .

My favorite, and only, revolver! I've got the 5.5" stainless Ruger Bisley with extra .45 ACP cylinder. It's great!

^^^^ Well I ain't got the gun yet, it's supposedly "processing" over at Bud's. It's a very photogenic pistol, and I'll be sure to get some pics of it when I receive it.

Bergman, have you shot it with those checkered grips? I have a Bisley with checkered rosewood grips and they tear my hand up if I shoot too many "magnumish" loads (255's @ 1300 to 1400 fps) in a session. But they look too pretty to put the smooth walnut grips back on.

So mostly I keep them down around 1100 fps, and just shoot 2 or 3 cylindersful of the hot ones occasionally.

Yes, these grips have been on for about a year or so. Most of my .45 Colt shooting is with maximum "Ruger Only" loads and these grips are a lot smoother than they look, no discomfort at all. Here's a closer look:

For me smooth is the only way to go. I've got a set of wrap around finger grooved grips on my regular NMBH and that help take those fire breathers.
