Hello again. Finally got around to buying the Ruger 5032 in 45 Colt and 45 ACP. Thanks again to everybody here for their advice on that. I was curious if anyone on here had experience with the different brands of moon clips.

Ranch: $3 each
Ruger: $3-$5 each
Speed Beez: $2-$3 each
TK Customs: $8 each

I'm curious about durability and function mostly. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well I have the same gun as you but only experience with the Ruger and Ranch models. The ranch models are sturdier and will hold rounds like the .45 GAP better than the stock ones however they hold so tight you absolutely will need a demooner, they don't have very good reviews as alot of them won't fit correctly and some people experiencing FTF with them, they are cheaper than the Ruger ones though and come in boxes of 8 vs the Rugers 3. The Ruger ones are thin and they're easy to take ammo out of, no demooner needed. They are more expensive but they're stock so I haven't had an FTF with mine in 6 different moonclips. They won't hold .45 GAP well either you need to kinda let them fall in and close the cylinder just right but how often will you even see GAP ammo. For ACP, Super, and Rowland brass they work just fine. IMG_20180920_142759070.jpg

Whew, $3 EACH?!

I bought about 200 clips for my 625 for about $15, and it came with a demooner.

That's a steep price for something I'd like to have a bunch of.

Cannot speak for the 45, but the for the LCR9mm, I love the Speed Beez. I buy them in Bulk at about $2.60 each for a pack of 50. Much more durable than the Ruger OEM which are terrible. Very weak, split apart and break. Yes, they are easy to remove shells by hand, but a Removable tool is extremely convenient and actually easier.
I do have some TK which I use for carry. The are very fine quality, but not necessary for range work.

For 45 ACP I don't believe there is much need to spend extra on the likes of TK Custom, despite how excellent they are. The extractor groove on rimless cases is so consistent there is no need to "fit" moonclips to case-heads. If we where talking about 38/357 I can make an argument for spending the money on TK but for 45 ACP Ranch Products works and works well. That is all I have every used in my S&W 610 and 625 are Ranch Products moonclips. Buy them in bulk and save money and time at the range. Order clips direct from Ranch Products and the Ruger 45 ACP moonclips are only $1.5 each if you buy 8 or only $.75 each if you buy 100.

I also believe (95% sure) that Speed Beez does not make there own moonclips they are simply reselling Ranch Product moonclips.
