Any opinions on this rifle in .22 cal ? Seems the reviews on PA are very good. Seems like a lot of power for the buck.

My opinion? Thanks a lot, I had my choices narrowed down, and now you gave me another to look at.:neener:

The Ruger Air Mag is at the bottom of the quality pile imo. Friends and I have tried them but not the best track record. You also need to crony test it or open it up to be sure the internal flaws aren't killing the power. Check the barrel for flaws and check for accuracy too. If all is well then great, but many people return them. They are also rather large guns which most magnums are, but it seems to me like the largest.

My friend recently bought one and we shot it at our friends hunting lodge in upstate NY.
It is heavy and loud but---with open sights I was soon hitting a standard rifle target at 75 yards in the bullseye--which is about the size of a dime.
Very impressive.
Other shots were very close to the bull--all within the orange circle--which I attribute more to my 61 year old eyes as opposed to the rifle's accuracy potential.
My friend is 72 and he was using a box of Crossman pellets that must have been over 40 years old.
Moral--even old(er) guys enjoy air rifles.
