I handled a full size one out of curiosity. It felt rather clunky and unnesesarily beefy to me to be honest. There were also what felt like a lot of seams in the polymer where different bits come together that really felt like they could have been fit a little better. The trigger was just sort of so so. I wasn't terribly impressed. I think the selling point is that it's an affordable duty sized pistol for range, home defense, and open carry. My LGS tells me they can't give away the Americans they currently have in stock. It's hard to imagine this smaller version being much of a seller with all the other choices available for shooters.
Not looking to be disagreeable but I am not a Ruger person but I did acquire a RAP9 in February of this year. I also have a Glock G17 Gen3 and S&W MP9. I find the RAP9 to be comparable with the previously mentioned pistols. I like it enough to acquire a RAP9c to compare with my example G19 Gen3 and MP9c.My LGS tells me they can't give away the Americans they currently have in stock
I tend to agree with this.My LGS tells me they can't give away the Americans they currently have in stock. It's hard to imagine this smaller version being much of a seller with all the other choices available for shooters.
Where is this gun store? I will come there and the owner can give all the RAPs to me, I'll take them.My LGS tells me they can't give away the Americans they currently have in stock. It's hard to imagine this smaller version being much of a seller with all the other choices available for shooters.
The same $500 for the American gets you a Glock---bring the price to about $400 and I'll give the American a much closer look.
A patriotic name. What does this gun offer over the SR9-C?
