Thanks for the tip; never would have thought of that particular match-up between those two guns! When I bought my SR9c the only holster I found for it was a generic fitting Bianchi Minimalist holster which fit several different guns. Eventually though I did get a nice DeSantis holster for it that fit perfectly and hugged my body for a really great fit.

My SR9c fit in all the Glock 19 holsters I had at the time.

I'll 'bet' that Glock could have come up with a 15R magazine for Glock 43x and 48 if they wanted to. The demand, as they saw it, was for a thinner, single stack Glock 19--->>Glock 48....I shoot and carry my G48 all the time. I had a Glock 26 with a sleeved Glock 19 magazine(same grip length and WIDTH as G19) and like the grip width of the G48 MUCH MORE. I carry a ShieldArms G15R magazine..but when I shoot the G48, I use the 4 10r mags..

I think so too. I still haven't been able to order those Shield mags, they're always out of stock.

I like Ruger , I carry a Ruger , but for the love of sweet God , why isn't these new pistols offered in a 45acp ? The last few years it seems that everything is 9mm.

Simple economics I'd wager. 45 is less popular these days, doubly so in the much harder and less fun to shoot tiny guns.

Not worth the engineering for the ROI, at least until you get through the initial 9mm buyers.

Glock 30/M&P compact/HK45c/320 Compact/etc is all the smaller I would go in .45, and I quite enjoy ol big fat and slow

I think this new Max could be done in 45, but I doubt it will happen until sales subside some.

About every sales email I receive, handguns are either 9mm or 380. That is with nearly every brand being offered. Handgun ammo is nearly all 9mm.

If it isn't 9mm, 233/556, or 12 ga., it will be a while. Why change production over and have downtime, when these are selling like hotcakes on Saturday morning.

I wonder how long the "Pro" safety-less version of this gun will be available for? Being left handed, I wonder why Ruger can't make these with an ambi-safety?

What's odd to me is that Ruger already discontinued the LC9s Pro. Used examples, last I looked on Gunbroker, were going for $600.

Side note, seems S&W finally listened to all the complaints on the Shield trigger. The new double stack Shield comes with a Glock style trigger.

These new 10-rounders are all about the capacity. Offering them in .45 would cut it to 7 rounds. And even then they would be noticeably fatter, not to mention heavier and probably longer. The advantage over a single stack would be minimal at best. Just look at Kahr PM45 and S.A. XD-S. Both of them come with 5 round magazines. Shield 45 has 6, and only does that because it uses a semi-staggered arrangement.

In short, I think that there are some very good reason why there never will be a P365 in .45 ACP. However, there's no good reason why there's no .45 ACP version of e.g. S.A. XDm Elite. It purely is a management decision. I have a non-elite XDm in .45, the gun is large enough to support the caliber. Ruger could probably upscale Security 9 to Security 45. Heck, they actually make Ruger American Pistol in .45 ACP.

I keep looking at that new MAX-9 and saying NO...then I look again and say PROBABLY NOT..now I'm down to maybe. I don't know what it is but there's something about that gun that intrigues me. Have to get my hands on one and see how it feels.
It does look intriguing. I have a RAP compact in 9mm that has 12 rd. magazines available. But with only a 1/4" difference in barrel length, the Max, I'm sure, would be more concealable. And it shouldn't be hardly any difference in velocity.

I carry a Kimber Micro 9 in rotation with an HK P30SK and a Sig P365XL that have similar length barrels. They all demonstrate adequate velocity.

I wish these guns had longer barrels. I don’t think people are actually carrying them in pockets so 1/2” of extra barrel would help handling and give something more for the holster to grab onto.

I originally bought the P365 to pocket carry. It didn't work out for me. This MAX-9 might fill that bill. It's a little skinnier, it appears the 10 shot has a slightly longer grip that would allow 3 fingers, and a little stouter grip to fill the hand.

Took my new Max-9 to the range for the first time today. With the 12 round magazine I can get all three fingers on it, and the grip is indeed more stout than the P365. I think I might prefer it, in fact. The trigger is nicer than I expected. Smooth - I didn't find the mush I was anticipating. I would put the pull weight at pretty close to that of the the P365. I really like the sights too. YMMV of course, and my preferences aren't everyone's, but I think it's a great little gun.

Yeah, I had kinda wanted a 365 for a pocket gun too and it's just too big. All those micro 9 high(er) caps are about the same for me. Too big for pockets but too small for belt carry since a Glock 26 or M&P subcompact (or insert your favorite plastic subcompact) conceals just as well for me.

And too thin in the grip to shoot as well as their chunkier true double stacks.

At least for me, YMMV and all that.

I hear you...I added a Hogue Handall on my P365 and it helped some...should have known it wouldn't work entirely as I added one on my XL too and it made it great. P365 grip just to small for me. Liked the grip on my Kimber Micro 9 until I added the Hogue on it...now it's perfect for me. I guess my hands are between the grip sizes they use...lol. The MAX-9 grip looks thicker front to back..that might make the difference. The perfect grip is the HK with customizable sides and rear giving 27 different grip options.

I certainly found the 365 too thin. The Hellcat and the Glock 48 felt better in the shop, but I never have had a chance to fire them yet.

Always interested to try a new thing, so I look forward to trying the Ruger and new Shield (normal one is also a bit thin, but closer) some day.

I agree. Glock 48 > Hellcat > Sig P365

I’ll have to see if anyone I knows picks up the Ruger and Shield Plus and try them out. Not interested in either as my Glock 48 is perfect for my needs, but it’s always nice looking and trying out new firearms.

Well...I was at a gun store today that had one I could fondle. I really liked it. Filled my hand well, full pinky support with 10 round mag, front sight was easy to find, pointed naturally...going to have to take another look when I get back home in a few weeks.

I’m in the market for a carry pistol. This looks like a good thing to consider. Ruger autos typically don’t do a thing for me, but the last few years they are looking more normal and less ugly.

I lean toward revolvers... but I do own semi-autos ... and when the LC9 started rolling out .. I said ... dang grip is to thin !!! They fixed it ... and increased the capacity ... installed great sights .. optic ready , great trigger ... no improvements needed out of the box ( look Glock and learn ) ... seems like a no brainer ... I may get one when the new wears off and prices stabilize ...

This was my general reaction as well - the MAX is actually aesthetically pleasing to me. It's my first actual Ruger purchase. And, since it's got the optic cut, it's about to lead me to finally take a little step into the world of red dot sights.
