Ruger American Ranch - What rings?

I was using the weaver quad locks on my compact american but they had sort of a cheapo feel, which makes sense because they were cheap. I wound up buying a set of leupold rifleman (I think) rings for pretty cheap and as soon as i pulled them out of the package and looked them over i considered the fact that they were probably no better and I think I like the quad locks better. The Leopolds now just sit in my parts tote..... the quad locks work fine if you are on a budget, like skylerbone said, burris has pretty much got the best $40 rings.....

Well, I have to walk back the USA made bit...apparently that's gone by the wayside...

That is a bummer -- I'm not too thrilled that they abandoned USA manufacture, it seems like I may as well have ordered some $8 Chinese rings.
I bought some rings from Leupold several years ago. They were made in Singapore too much to my dismay.

I bought a couple sets of Weaver Quad Locks in the last week or so to mount a scope on my $50 Axis project. For the $12 average they cost me (had to buy a 2nd set due to the bolt handle rubbing on the eyepiece of the scope), they seem adequate though nowhere near as nice as the Warne and Burris Sig Zee rings I use otherwise.

Come to think of it, I do have a set of Sig Zees on my crossbow, maybe I'll swap those out eventually.
